Pisa and Lucca

tour description

PISA AND LUCCA The two rivals of the Battle of Montecatini

Directly from your accomodation or hotel, from your cruise ship or arrival terminal, our driver guided tour will take you to start your relaxing day excursion to Pisa and Lucca, which were once the scene of fierce internal struggles and which are today the quietest and restfullest cities of Tuscany.

And if you are enjoying your Roman Holiday and want to visit a region rich in culture and art, don't miss Tuscany! You can choose from a wide range of day trips from Rome to its surroundings which will exceed your highets expectations!

After a scenic panoramic private transfer through green tuscanian hills which offer you great pictures of rolling landscapes around farms and villages, the first city you will visit with our day trip from Rome and guided tour is Pisa. The first stop of your private tour will be in the heart of the city: Piazza dei Miracoli (Miracles Square), a huge pedestrian area nicely covered by a smooth green lawn. Here the extra famous Leaning Tower sticks out and, a little further, the Duomo and the biggest Baptistry in Italy. The two riversides, the "lungarno" (along the Arno), are marking the bend the city river makes here, and thanks to their width, they offer an evocative and relaxing glimpse of the quiet historic city center.

The next stop of your full day trip is Lucca, a Renaissance city, which is medieval, Baroque and Roman at the same time for having absorbed so many cultures over the centuries and which is still preserved almost intact. Famous for its numerous towers and churches, such as The "Torre delle Ore" (the Tower of the Hours), The Guinigi Tower and St. Martin's Cathedral, the City's Duomo, Lucca is a city rich in art, culture and tradition. It has been founded by Etruscans so its long history went across centuries untill today, as the city has expanded and modernized. It is thoroughly surrounded by fully intact solid city walls which became today a pedestrian promenade all around the old town and with a large public park on the top. You will breathe in a quiet atmosphere of peace.

The Tuscan countrysides will be the setting to your private or shared tour, from Rome, from Florence, from Siena, from Livorno or from its surroundings.
